Ok so we are getting some really nice 500$ gfx cards, but wheres the next 9500pro? Ive seen nothing about them, just some old 9600xt on PCI-E (X600).
Shouldnt we be seeing some x700 card with 2x the speed of the 9600xt for less than 200$ soon? If not the divide between mid- and high-end is going to be huge, no reason to get into PC gaming unless U can afford those 500$ cards then.

from what I understood, the X600 will be a whole new video card and it will be available in both AGP and PCI-E. There will also be the X300 for low end.

th x600 and x300 performance is about equal to thier predecesors so its not the greatest cards to upgrade to. Just have to see what the full line ups come with in the following months. Hopefully they do something about thier mid range cards, nV hasn't annouced thier yet but there is a good chance thier mid range cards are going to be around the previous generations best or just a little under.

This might be stating the very obvious, but there are currently a glut of nice cards @ ~$200. I know that there will be a new line of mid-range cards, but if they are going to perform about like a 9800 Pro or 5900U, then I feel safe buying the tried and true. Unless you need a newly available feature from one of the new cards-that changes everything.

Athlon XP 1900 (11x200) 42C (Load w/AX-7 & 8cm Tornado) - MSI K7N2 Delta - Corsair Value PC3200 - Gainward GF3 @ 250/550 - 80Gb WD 8Mb Cache -

Yes, agree with you!

I doubt new midrange cards will be superior to 9800Pro (as a reference), and currently you can buy one of these for +/- $200 mentioned. The only reason for waiting the new cards are low power consumption. If that's not a reason for you amd, buy a 9800Pro.

Still looking for a good online retailer in Spain :frown:
