all sounds in windows play too fast and too high pitched, all sounds
including mp3s playing from windows media player and iTunes and windows logon
sounds. only happens after being on computer for around 10 minutes or more

Have you tried to reinstall the drivers of your sound card?

i dont have a sound card i have soundmax, how do i reinstall soundmax?
