Because (having got Stockport to the top of the Championship) it's now not
giving me the option of Load Last Game. And Load Game doesn't see anything
in the folder either.

yes it does.

try having a look round, it might be looking in the wrong folder.

locations on my hard drive after various installs of the game.

I just updated to 5.0.5. It seems that the game is renamed to
"WorldWide Soccer Manager 2005" and therefore under the
"Sports Interactive" folder you'll find not only the folder named
"Football Manager 2005" -as it used to be until 5.0.3- but also a
"WorldWide Soccer Manager 2005" folder. There is also a 'War Child
Music" ad after the "Let's kick racism out of football" logo.
All you gotta do is point to the old folder, or even better copy the
save games -and tactics, trainig, etc- from the old folder to the new
one.
Apart from that the game seems the same.Still I wonder why this was
done. If you think of it it's not FM 2005 I'm playing right now, it's
WSM 2005.

You sure you downloaded the right patch (i.e.
http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=view&id=240, and not
http://www.sigames.com/downloads.p [...] w&id=242)? WWSM is what
FM was released as in the USA.

It seems to work. It also renames the "manager" to "head coach" and
"fixtures" to "games" :-)
I'll try the other one as well, thanks.
