I've preordered a X800XT card that probably won't be here for a month or so. In the meantime everything else to build my system will be here on Friday. I'd have a nice long weekend to build my system in peace. Is there a good, relatively cheap ATI card I can buy about $100 or so that would allow me to complete my system and get it up and running in the meantime. Any help would be appreciated.

Throw in a Mach64 PCI. It's not good, but it is cheap, and will get your system up.

Never tried this but have been tempted to because of the price. Only 32MB, but considering it is a radeon 8500 for the price of a Radeon 7000, maybe worth a shot. Either that or buy a refurb from newegg.

Hey Crash, don't knock the Mach 64. That was THE CARD back in late 1994.

Radeon 9600. If you have another old system, I would shell out the extra, buy a 9600 AIW, and then turn your old system into a media center box when your new card gets here.

Well I took your suggestion to heart. I got a cheepo 9600se that will hold me till my real card gets here. Then I'll use it in my old Athalon system that I'm giving my son. It'll be a definate improvement over the Geoforce2 that's in there now... I think. Thanks for the help everyone. Everything is supposed to arrive from New Egg tomorrow. With any luck, I'll have it up and running by dinner time. Fingers crossed.
