There was a lot of speculation as to whether Best Buy was going to honor the $299 6800GT sale online. Just wanted to let
anyone interested know they delivered because I now have it in my system up and running. Total price was $313 delivered
Its a nice upgrade from my Ti4200
Out of the box it scored 11380 on 3dMark03 on my system which is a 3.0C p4 with 1gig 3200 kingston hyperX ram.
The core runs around 60-64C during heavy gaming.
I played around with the core and easily got it to 415 with the cooling fan it came with. I stopped around there since I didnt want to break it:). I will try and overclock the ram then run some farcry benches when I get back tonight.

nice dont be scared to break it hehe
might be a good idea to let the hardware run some b4 heavy OCing tough

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-3-3-8, Leadtek FX5900 w/ FX5950U bios@500/1000, 2X30gig Raid0

Yeah definitely, Looping 3Dmk at stock speeds for a few hours would be my recommendation to 'burn in' the GPU.

I took your advice and ran 3dMark03 for about 2 hours to burn it in a bit.
If you guys are interested in the rest of the overclocks I was able to get out if it here they are:

Core: stable@430 so far but I havent tried it past this yet since I really wanna make sure its %100 stable. I played demo of painkiller and played farcry each about 1 hour and no artifacts or anything bad so far.

Memory: stable@ 1.12ghz and also played it using farcry/painkiller with no artifacts. Gonna play around more with it tonight and see if it still has room

The temp under load reached 73C max which doesnt seem too high compared to other temps I have seen but I also have 4 fans in this case.
I was checking around at other sites and found some peeps reporting overclocks up to 450/1200 without water cooling which I kinda doubt but who knows.

It also boosted my 3dmark03 up to 12021 which aint too shabby for a $300 card

Well its not the slideshow it once was:)
Lighting/Shadows seem improved on not only in just effects but the IQ of it. The 4200 shadows would a lot of times be distorted and unrealistic and sometimes in the wrong place heh, but I havent noticed anything wrong with the shadows on the 6800.
And maybe its me but the AA/AF quality/IQ seems to have improved quite a bit over my 4200.
This was the first time I had actually played/seen a DX9 game with a DX9 card game I must say the eye candy really is impressive and noticeable. I didnt know games could look so cool! /cries and hugs his card

It was rumored that the 256 version had lower quality ram than the 128 - to keep production costs down. Doubt this is the case with BFG, but has anyone else heard this?

Test results for Brain:\Memory\ = 100% Full - consider upgrading -.-

I was at a Circuit City last night. They didn't have any of the new cards from either ATI or NV. TOO Slow in going from paper to store shelves.
