Just bought an x800xt on ebay for $533!

Got it for $533 including shipping, a good deal to me. Should hopefully get here by early next week. Late this week if im lucky. I'll be sure to post benchmarks for everyone. My system will consist of this:

Asus A8V deluxe Wi-Fi mobo
1 Gig of OCZ 3700EB
X800xt
S.B. Audigy 2 zs platinum pro
160Gb Seagate SATA HDD
Enermax 470W noisetaker
Thermaltake v5000a case
Watercooling setup

It's gonna be a monster, I've been dreaming of building something like this for years.

LOL just kidding. But I had a buddy who joined ebay and bought an Office 2000 Pro super cheap from someone just like this. Luckily for him he told me about his great deal. My alarms went off right away at the many red flags to this seller and item, and we were able to discover the guy had a fictitious phone number in his contact info. Instead of my buddy losing money, the guy got the ebay BOOT.

Anyway, good for you. Hope you get it soon. Lucky stiff.

haha yea I was definitely worried about that, but he was established, had 100% feedback, almost 20 I think. But im protected by ebay and paypal so no worries about the money. I was this close from buying one from Italy, but I turned back thankfully haha.

Yeah, I've been watching them X800XT's on Ebay for weeks now. I have yet to pull the trigger I'm just waiting and biding my time. I've almost the exact same rig cept I'm running OCZ 3500 Ram and an M-Audio card.

No richness here. System made possible by grandma selling her house and giving money to her grandkids, i.e. me. Well I put a good 1,000 into it. She gave us all 2,500 though. Was playing on building this system by working like a dog but then she gave me the good news haha. My ram and harddrive came today. Who else hates fedex though. They are terrible. I wasn't home to sign for my monitor yesterday so I sign the slip to give them permission to drop it off and slap it right next to my garage door, a bright white paper on a dark backdrop. And the fool doesn't see it!!! So I have to wait another day to get my awesome monitor.

I was just woundering, why haven't you saved a few hundreds by getting 3500EB instead of 3700EB and 3500+ instead of FX-53.

Personnaly, I doubt that the 3700EB will be better than 3500EB which is, in my opnion, the BEST memory to have with an Athlon 64/FX. Thanks to AnandTech and their extraordinary memory reviews!

Cause I would rather have the fastest thing out there. And once you get OC'ing the 3700EB pulls ahead, so if necessary I might have to drop the fx down a multiplier to get my fsb up there. Depends if my watercooling can pull through. This thing has to last a long time so I don't want it dragging its feet an inch, doom 3 seems mighty taxing and I know i'll be ready for it.

Good and my monitor did show up very late yesterday. So fedex was at my house twice in one day. Oh well. I got a Viewsonic P95f+B, its a gorgeous monitor, my fx-53 is showing up today and the x800xt is coming thursday or friday of next week.

You wont really need the PC3700 to Oc cuz that Fx has unlock multiplier, isnt that the only reason why you get a FX over a 3500+ the unlocked multiplier??
Anyhow I agree with TheRod on this one but I cant blame you, if I had some money to burn I'd probly go for the fx to hehe. Anyway i think its a good rig to invest in, I would pay 3000+USD to get a similar rig with a P4EE or something like that.

Well I want to OC the whole system not just the FX. Who wants their ram to run at plain ol' ddr400. And the FX arrived a few minutes ago. It's so tiny. Can't wait to slap it on the mobo. Next is my watercooling stuff which arrives monday.

I have a waterblock for my cpu,gpu and chipset. Yea I'm gonna let everything burn in for at least a week. I'm gonna put on the waterblocks right away though, im still not positive if I should use the chipset one though, there is a big asus heatsink on it. Do you think it is necessary?
