PCI Express and Graphics cards. Is there really any need to abandon AGP right now, throw away my current motherboard and move to a PCI Express solution? IMHO, the extra bandwidth offered is not going to make a difference for years to come. Thoughts?

I believe if you search the forums you could still find some older posts on how to determine if its worth upgrading or not.
I'll throw this at you..
Is it worth spending 1,000 dollars on playing DOOM 3?
PCI express will be great eventually when other technologies catch up. Ie.. Video Cards.

IF you are simply pondering it, then it's not worth it. If you upgrade once a year it's not worth it, however if you are upgrading in 1-2 months and won't upgrade again for 2 years, I'd say it's a good choice. Getting the AGP + PCI-EX w/ DDR & DDR2 mobos would be my choice. You can use it with any combination, now and then in the future, especially something with a 939 socket which has more longevity than the 775 IMO.
