I am stuck trying to decide which Graphics card to buy for my "old" P4 system. The choices are:
MSI GeForce4 TI 4800SE 128 DDR 8X AGP VIVO
Transcend ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
My system consists of:
ASUS P4B Motherboard 400FSB
P4 2.0GHz CPU 400FSB
512MB PC133 RAM
Western Digital 120G 7200RPM HDD
If I am not mistaken my mbd only supports AGP 4x. I am getting both cards at a steal for about R 1000.00 which converts to about US $ 70.00. Is there a huge difference between the above mentioned cards if you consider the one is DX8 and the other DX9.

I'd say the 9600Pro.

It performs better (esp. with AA/AF) in older games than the GF4Ti cards, and supports DX9, so I can't see any reason to get the GF4 over it.

The rest of your system isn't too great though. The Ol' P4 paired with SDRAM was always a bad combination...
