I've been having some sort of problem with my graphics card in my new computer (HIS ICEQ 9800 PRO 128MB)and the tech support for the card is less than helpful. It works fine as long as I'm not playing games. When I play Farcry or any other game, after about 20-30mins of playing the screen goes black or the video locks up (I can still hear the sound though) OR I get a message from the VPU recover utility saying:
"VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands...."
I've downloaded the latest drivers for my motherboard and from ATI as well. I'm not overclocking the CPU or memory or graphics. My system is:
AMD64 3200 Newcastle
MSI Neo Platinum mobo
HIS ICEQ 9800 Pro 128Mb
OCZ 3500EB 2X512Mb memory
WB 74Gb 10,000RPM SATA HD
Antec 430W True Power PS
I don't think the card is overheating because I have the fan on the ICEQ thing set to high. I really am at a loss. The card tech support just told me to update my drivers. Anyone have any advice on something to try or a similar experience?
I "think" I figured out the problem...I increased the AGP aperature from 128 to 256 and the card hasnt crashed yet (crossed fingers). I'm not really sure why that would've been the problem but whatever works I guess . Hopefully that was it.... I need to find some sort of video burn in software.
