Boot and USB Card Reader

All of a sudden, my Windows XP Pro SP2 cannot boot if my Memorex USB
card reader is connected to the computer. As soon as I pull it out, it
boots up normally. I can then install the reader and it pops up just
fine in Explorer. There are no errors in Device Manager. Any ideas on
why the system is not booting up when the card reader is in?

Thanks for any help.

Probably because your BIOS is set to look for bootable USB drives before it
looks for the hard drive(s) and it can't find a bootable sector on your USB
card reader.
