PAL i think is for UK tv's and NTSC is for the US might be other way round

If u do things right.... People won't be sure you've done anything at all......

PAL and NTSC are two of the 3 major television broadcast standards used throughout the world. And yes, NTSC is used in the USA, while United Kingdom uses PAL.

So in this case, it is refering to what standard the tv outputs on the card is designed for. If you buy the wrong one, it will not work with your TV.

If you are unsure what standard your country uses, look <A HREF="http://www.alkenmrs.com/video/wwstandards1.html" target="_new"> HERE</A>.

Very cool thanks for info, Just out of curiosity I have a question about a tv out. A friend of mine had his computer hooked up to his tv so whatever he was doing on the computer mirrrored on his tv, the tv looked horrible you couldnt make out the text everthing was smooshed etc etc. Im assuming the useful part of this is if your into downloading shows and movies and wanna watch them on your tv? How do you get it to look good (Like watching a normal tv) instead of having it all compressed and weird looking?

Text will never look good with your TV out. games and movie will be OK...The TV resolution is simply way to low. something like 320. To get Crisp text youd need an HD TV with HD tv out best would be using DVI. So you need some real good hardware =)

Keep your eye on ebay as well. Thats where I picked up my x800xt PE. $533 shipped two day air. They are always tons of new auctions popping up. So check frequently cause some of them can be deals.
