is that GOOD enough for cs 1.6 and cz??

and my config

axp 2500+ (oc to 3200)
samsung ddr400 256*2 dual channel
ASROCK KT880

The card you describe is about the same as a 9600 Pro (same number of pipelines, lower clock rate, wider memory path). You might get lucky and be able to hack the other 4 piplines open reliably, making it a 9800 non-pro.

There's a software hack to turn on the turned off rendering pipelines. Chance of one of those pipelines being unusable is around 50%, hence many people won't buy the card on the assumption the mod won't work right. The software hack is incorporated into Omega drivers I believe.

Uh yeah. If that is the 256bit AGP then you may get luck and do all the way to 9800xt with it if needed.

Nah, he should try it, because it would definately last long enough to test it, and he could always turn the hack off if it failed testing. It's these guys that enable the pipes, then OVERCLOCK, that have the problems with card damage.
