Can't figure out how to use my computer mic to pickup a phone message , when
I am on hold. I want the mic to play live through my computer speakers.
Similiar to a karoke machine, only witth my computer. I have windows xp. My
system will run the windows recorder.

start/run, type SNDVOL32
Options menu, Properties, put a dot in 'playback'
scroll down to "Microphone" and put a check, then OK
note the slider for Mic volume, and be sure a check is Not in Mute, below the slider.
then OK, and go back to options, properties
put a dot in "Recording"
Put a check in Microphone, and OK
Note the slider for the Mic, and be sure a check IS in the box for "Select" , then OK
Speak into the Mic. If your speakers are working, you will hear it.
