I've had an ATI X800 XT on order for quite a while from CompUSA. Every time I check the site, they've pushed back the shipping date. Now it's up to Sept. 20'th.

I went into the store today, to complain. Talking to the manager, he checked and couldn't provide any date for when it really might ship.

Almost as an aside, he said if I wanted a Verto 6800 Ultra, he could have one delivered to my house tomorrow, for the same price as the ATI card.

I said OK! We'll see if it arrives tomorrow, as promised.

Shutup.

Me: are you saying I can't provide?
Me: cause I know I can provide.
Me: oh and I can provide money too;)
Rachel:): why do we need money when we can just stay in our room and have sex all day?

? douche. i have a BFG geforce 6800 GT factory overclocked and will kick a x800 xt's ass in doom3. and guess what i didn't pay 400$+ for it i paid 310 after tax. gotta love that best buy employee discount. o and btw. those of you still debating between a high end video card wait 1 more month for some new motherboards with dual PCI-express x16 ports and put 2 GF 6800 GT/ultra's in SLI mode. nearly double performance, will kick any video cards ass. no debating that

theres more than DOom3, Gf6800/X800XTPE are nearly equal. Wich one is better depends on the game you wanna play and is often a matter fo personnal taste.

No debating SLi will own performance wise. But personally I dont have the money to invest in that kind of setup sooooo its pointless to me.

A little tidbit on X800 availability.

I don't think you can go wrong with either card, but since you can't get your hands on a X800XT it's a complicated matter. ATi can't seem to fab enough chips, and with the Doom benchmarks smearing ATi's reputation, people are cancelling their $500 preorders and going with the 6800GT for $400. I'm going to skip this generation of cards, because by then I'll hopefully have a 64-bit rig with PCI-Express. BTW, if anyone has links to info about R500 or NV50, please shoot them this way.

whats with this

To remind you, ATI hasn't launched this card that will be clocked at 500/1000 MHz and to stand between 475/900 MHZ clocked X800PRO and 520/1120 MHz Platinum.

so they claim x800xt and PE are diff?
