Weeellllllll, modems suck, they really fuc|king suck, there the biggest piece of sh|t in the whole wide world

Connections suck, dropped connections suck, hard to down look pics of naked girls!

On Monday they suck, on Tuesday they suck, on Wednesday and Saturday they suck, then on Sunday, just to be differant they really, really fuc|,ing succckkkk.

Have you every used dial up modems, their the biggest piece o' sh|t in the whole wide world! They suck, suck, suck, suck!

Going from years of free broadband to dialup for a month is enough to make you go crazy! I dont know if I can last out till my cable modem is installed tomorrow!

If you think that's bad, try living out in a rural area like I do. There's no cable available at all. And the phone lines are so old and crappy that not only is DSL not an option, but even my 56K modem connecting to another 56K modem only gets at best a 26.4K connection speed. And I still get dropped every so often.

If the opposite of pro is con, what is the opposite of productivity? Ground first.

Beat this. My parents live out in the sticks and the lines are so bad that they get 0.8 kb/sec

Gee thanks for reminding me again that modems suck.
Like I told you in a different post down here in Mansfeld
Missouri this is all we have My USR PCI hardware modem connects at 288000 and most of the time it's at 26600.
Heard anything good or bad about Starband sattelite systems
through Dishnetwork other than the very high monthly cost?

Hey, I don't feel for you. I am forced to pay for online service in order to attend school-and it's only a 33.6k connection. Worse yet, I live in an on-campus apartment, and the kids in the dorms get LAN! But apartments only get modem service!

Guys,

Be happy with your lot. You want to read about the situation in Britain - most people are modem users here (as I am), and to top it all, until about a year ago, we had to pay call charges to use the Net. It's only since then you could get unlimited access for a price.

That's one of the reasons I haven't posted more - I just couldn't afford to spend all the time online.

Hey I used to be one of those kids in the dorms with free lan access. Now that I have had to use dial up for a month I must get my cable modem up and running or there will be hell to pay!!!!

Don´t you think for a second that Cable modems are better!

In here they are slow , the service sucks and most often than not it drops the connection ! It´s driving me nuts!!

And the fu_kers still have the nerve to be taxing excess download!

Why should you learn from your mistakes?
Learn from other´s! It´s cheaper and less painfull! :-D

Were you getting your service? Im in the middle of hicksville were most people dont have broadband, but the city is like 150,000 pop. I just got my cable modem today and it seems to be working fine.

The problem is that the Fu_cking Cable company has monopoly here!

Ah, there is were the problems is, many people, little bandwidth. For me much bandwidth, few people with common sense to use it!

Actually if i say there´s about 15000 people using Net cable in Lisbon, i should not be to far from target!
The problem is the service is crap, the modem they used (when i signed up !) is major crap (3Com HomeConnect Cable Modem! :-X ) and sometimes (more often then not!) the connection is broken!

Cant say that my cable modem is any better, its made my RCA. But so far have had it 3 days with out one outage or slow time. We also have 3 people running off this modem with a router too. Plus when devided the cost to me every month is like $14. Im happy.

Cable has a monopoly here in my state (you bastards!), but still, I wouldn't go back to dial-up! No freakin' way!
BTW- I've had no problems whatsoever except for 2 down times (both quickly resovled) and I've had the service since last December.
