which card would you prefer

6800 GT, granted I am a Nvidia fan, but the fact is that Nvidia has been stomping ATI in most recent benchmarks.

I'd say stomping is an exageration. But the 6800GT OC would definately be faster than the X800 Pro in almost all tests. I guess it depends on whether saving $66 is worth a few less fps or a slightly lower setting. Both cards truely do stomp on the best from last generation.

ABIT IS7, P4 2.6C, 1GB Corsair XMS 4000 Pro Series, Radeon 9800 Pro, Santa Cruz, TruePower 430watt

both cards are amazing, but the 6800gt definately worth the slightly higher price. this is coming from an ATI fan btw

plus, if you overclock the 6800gt even slightly, theres a substantial increase in performance. x800pro isnt quite the same , ebcause its already clocked alot higher, so 50mhz overclock to an x800pro isnt goign to be nearly as impressive as a 50mhz overclock on a 6800.

either card WILL stomp any card from the 9800pro/5900ultra generation into the ground

I think the extra $60 bucks is easily worth the cost for the 6800 GT. I buy whatever is the best option whether it'd be ATI or Nvidia, right now it's Nvidia.

I would choose the 6800 GT. As it stands its the BFG 6800GT OC which is a factory overclocked 6800 GT with a lifetime warranty (cant go wrong there).

Hard to tell untill nvidia removes all the dang cheats from thier drivers and the "ment to be played" game delopers need to remove the NV card only paths etc on thier end as well then we could compair fairly...

till then it's not fair to compair ati and nvidia as right off the bat you giveing nvidia the huge advantage of cheating.

untill then I will contenu to buy ATI,

also nvidia could give a rats * what you think. ATI at lest listens to what people say and want. Nvidia when they what your openion they will give it to you.

Funy thing is nvidia stock has been droping like a rock, also thier cutting production while ati up production ati seems to be doing better none the less....
