when i try to access an external drive i get the error msg drive:\ not
accessible incorrect function. i have turned off windows firewall and
antivrus software rebooted and still cannot access it.
can anyone help please

Turn back on your firewall..
Turn back on your antivirus..

The firewall COULD have prevented the access if it wasn't the Windows
Firewall and the "external drive" you speak of is a Network drive, not a
classic external drive like a USB/Firewire drive.

Considering you probably meant USB/Firewire drive - has the drive been
formatted in a way to allow access to it from a Windows system? What kind
of drive is it?

hi thanks for the reply. the drive is a firewire and also any usb ie ipod
they have all worked in the past ! and the ipod has been formatted for
windows. the other drive is an internal sony memory stick
