Windows 7 wont load

I've got a Dell XPS. It's worked fine for quite a while. The othernight I was online. and I recieved a notice that something downloaded despite not downloading anything. My computer immediately shut down. I have not been able to get Windows to load properly since.

Here is what I've done so far:

Windows wouldnt load so it would go into Windows Repair. Repair can't find the problem.

I attempted to Computer Restore settings picking a number of previous days. At the end it keeps telling me it's unable to restore.

At this point, I've been assuming it's a virus of some kind, but It wont load safe mode to allow me to run anti-virus software.

I even tried running the Windows Reinstall disk. It says it's missing a driver for the CD/DVD drive. Which is weird because it's saying the DVD is in the drive.

At this point, Im not sure what to do. Is there anyway to run anti-virus softeware from the command prompt? My problem is I can't access the anti-virus software on (I think it's D) Drive. It has me in the boot drive which is the X drive.

Id really prefer to save the files on there because I havent had a chance to back up my little daughters pictures completely yet. Is there anyway to salvage files and fix this without reinstall? Any help would be appreciated.
