Finally got my cable modem today, damn AT&T takes for ever. First tests have me downloading at about 620k from good sites. More then have a meg a second is good enough for me!!! Best of all the first 3 months are only 19.99 split 3 ways between me and my roommates. Now we just need to get the router setup and broadband for all!

Screw liberty, give me broadband or give me death!

Get download accelerator plus. It's the best program i've found for downloading large files even faster. Takes the file, spilts it into four to six smaller chuncks, and downloads them all at the same time, then puts them together when the download is complete. When the lines seem to be good, i've gotten as high as 1200k.

Yes, Download Accelerator is nice.

BTW, if you have NT or Win2000, you don't need a router to share cable...

Or win98 for that matter, but my friend already has a linksys dsl/cable router. Its easier then haveing one of our machines up and running all the time.

more than a meg.a second is alright,Hell I would be in
Hillbilly Heaven out here in the sticks.
