Hi All,
Someone decided to take out the telephone pole near me that runs my
phone lines and some other businesses in my area. Not only that, it
must have screwed up something underground b/c they are digging up hlaf
of York Rd trying to figure out what happend. There's a deli next door
that is going to lose mucho lunch business and the M&T Bank is letting
one person in at a time for security reasons. Verizon has told the
local folk that they won't be able to get us up and running until
Monday, which means my phones and my computer at the shop are DOA. I
won't be able to check email until morning or night, so bear with me.
Anyone who needs to get in touch should just shoot me an email and
proceed to watch grass grow or paint dry while you wait for my response

You're VERY lucky... there must have only been minimal damage to the cable.
It can get REALLY dicey should it actaully be severed (they're armored and
have built in slack but still...). I used to design cellular base-stations
(and handsets for that matter)... but still... I've heard horror stores from
wire-guys trying to get things working properly after it's severed...
