Finally, I was supposed to get this card back near the end of july. Ofcoarse that didn't happen. Then I was told Agaust 3rd. Well suprise suprise those dumbasses still can't get it. Finnaly a date is confirmed on thier website for Aug 16. There is a countdown and everyday the anticipation grows. But wait... the order screwed up and they still don't have it. So I wait a week, I call and guess what it is held up at customs. WTF is that, a vid card held up at customs. So I call them today and the nice man on the phone tells me there is no eta... great not only that but he says it will be in within the week but there are no garantuees. So now I am pretty pissed as I have been waiting since Aug 3rd (I knew I would never get this quasy card in July) over half a month. Doom3 sits at home insulted by the excuse for the vid card I got in my new rig. But then as my phone vibrates in my pants exciting my genetial area a ray of light enters my dim life. Its compusmart and my card is in. What a day to work OT now I have to wait even longer to get my card. Oh what a sleepless night it will be. There will be an update tommorow as to wethear or not I got the card and how it performs. BTW be smart don't be a retard. Order the card from more than one place. I hate compusmart and you.

PS: I wet my pants when I got the news so... can anyone lend me some pants (perferablly dry but I will settle for damp).

Really just go get the card, I wouldn't wait that long, I can pick the 6800 GT or even the ultra from the local PC store, for only a couple extra dollars over a web deal.

Well I did pick it up at a local PC shop. However here in Canada these cards are in shorter supply. Well anyways, I tried out the card and I like. I can play Doom3 at ulra-high with 4x AA and all the trimmings with no problems (Well some lag here and there but it's rare (that all rhymed cool)). Also I can play farcry at max settings no problem. Can't wait to see what it can do in other games. Well I am happy with my purcahse since I split the cost with my brother it is not quite so high. Its a good card.

BTW, what is vertical sync? does it make the game look nicer?

Also are there any new drivers? I took the drivers of the CD
and can;t find new ones. I can find generic nvidai drivers for all geforce cards but i don't think those are better. Help is much appriciated.

vsync prevents image tearing/cracking...when u r in fast motion scenes @ hish res.

"Vsync should only be disabled when benchmarking so that the videocard and processor are not being limited by the display. Frame rates will appear higher with vsync off but the amount of information displayed is limited by your monitor in that instance. A monitor with an 85 Hz refresh rate will only display 85 frames per second even if the videocard is rendering 400 frames a second. The visual quality may decline as a result also because some frames could be skipped as a result of excess rendering so the interpolation between the first frame and the next frame displayed could be off resulting in 'tearing' or jerkiness.
