Thx for the headsup. Should be interesting to read all the complaints Radeon 9800 Pro users like me will have when their card fails to score 1,000 3dmarks. Just like back with the GF4Ti's and 3dmark03 when folks getting 10,000+ in 2001 now got 1400.

Do you guys think the nvidia 6800 series will have a fairly higher score than the ati x800 series? Since it supported the dx 9.0c and SM 3.0 .

The funny thing is that this round is supposed to be different from the last (based on interviews given to B3D, etc.) and that the tests will be more compartmentalized, with less sub tests. It'll be more like the beginning of 3Dmk03 than the last part.

As for older cards scoring worse, we can count on that, but I hope that it still shows the division between and R7000/8500/9600/9800 (GF4MX/GF4ti/FX5600/FX5900) and the new cards because it would suck if the tests reveal little difference between an R8500 and an R9600XT or a GF4ti and an FX5700U.

I'll be cautiously optimistic, but still guarded. Regardless of what happens it's another test, and likely the biggest issue will be how people use/missuse it.

3DMark03 made me want to upgrade my TI4600. Is 3DMark05 going to make me want to upgrade my 6800?

Anyways I'll try it, but eversince I found AquaMark3, its been my favorite. It seems to show small changes, and takes half the time to run. At the moment I prefer it, and I am guessing 3DMark05 isn't going to change that.
