i currently have 4.1 i think(im reading the cd cover) but in directx says 6.14 so im not sure.
I may aswell ask other questions save posting another topic.

Whats the best overclocking tool for ati cards? and is 32k on aquamark low for a 9800 pro 128mb?
and finally, i want buy another 512mb stick of ram to make 1024mb, i have a standard stick that came with it and im not sure of the brand, so can 2 brand types work together and which is the best brand out there im looking to spend £80.

Best way to check which actual version of the Catalyst drivers you are using is to go to your desktop properties, select settings, then advanced, and click the Options tab. It should list which Catalyst version you are using.

not sure about overclocking tools...You could try the Omega drivers available here. They come with an overclocking feature built in. Just make sure you read the installation instructions first.

As for your RAM, yes, and stick should work together, but ideally, you would get a second stick that is the same speed. If you are not sure what the speed of your current RAM is, you can download a utility called CPU-Z which has all kinds of useful information about your motherboard/memory.

As far as yout ATI driver version goes, 6.14 isn't a release yet (4.8 is the current release), but maybe you didn't read the right number, or I told you to look in the wrong place (I thought I was wrong once, but it turned out I was mistaken  ). I am using the Catalyst version 4.8s with no issues. You can also check out the Catalyst comparison in the Graphics forum, it has good benchmark scores for the different versions.

Type of RAM depends on what you plan on doing with your system, specifically if you plan on Overclocking it. I use Kingston ValueRam, and have never had a problem with it. Kingston, Geil, OCz, Corsair, Crucial are all good brands of memory.

1) FREG looks like your FSB speed, which is 200MHz.

2) FSB:DRAM 1:1 is your FSB to RAM speed ratio. You are running them at 1:1, which means you are running your RAM at 200MHZ (400MHz effective), which is good, as running your FSB and RAM the same improves performance.

3) 3:3:3:8 is your RAM timings. I don't get into that much, but generally, the lower the better. I'm sure if you search the Memory forum you can find some good info.

I'm fine with the 4.9Beta version. Google ATI-tool for overclocking.
