hello everyone. i was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem i have with the geforce 6800 oc from bfgtech. first i uninstalled the old ati drivers before i installed the card. then i downloaded the new 61.77 nforceware drivers from nvidia. i installed the card, booted up, windows found it, i installed the new drivers, and rebooted. all of a sudden, i couldn't get into windows even in safe mode because it was telling me some files were corrupted. i reinstalled windows xp pro 3 times and each time i tried to use the card, i kept getting files corrupted. it seemed to be ok when i had it on 8 colors(lol) but when i tried to bump it up to 32 bit colors with 1024x768 resolution, it went crazy on me. if anyone can help i would appreciate it. my system specs are as follows:
asus a7n8x deluxe
amd athlon xp 1800
1 GB pc 2700 memory
400 watt power supply
windows xp pro
direct x 9

Thanks in advance to any who can help. i would really hate to take this card back.

Well When u you reinstalled windows did U FORMAT the hard Drive first? Because formatting the hard drive is the best way to isntall a new OS everything is clean that way.

Also make sure u have the latert version of direct X 9.0b or c.

If u have an integrated graphics card on your motherboard make sure u disable it, which i doubt u have.

It seems like its a problem with your hard drive and not the card.

Also if u dont want to format your HD you can atleast defragment it and go into add remove programs and make sure those ati drivers are completly gone, then scan use search to scan your HD for ATI files and delete those, also completley remove the NVidia drivers to and then try to reinstall em. But i suggest u format it.

I think i agree with the last post that its more to do with hard drive side o things. U probly did, but did u try uninstalling the Forceware drivers, and trying again?
