hopefully better OGL perf ? hey grape, as u posted abt OGL2 and it being released 2 days ago, has this anything todo with 4.9s being released 2 days after? what i mean is that, is OGL2 incorporated in 4.9s ? Who are theinsiders who violated the NDA ? lemme know.

First they will fix the small glitches in the BETA release for D3-Drivers, and second they will bring the performance boosts that will now work with the Control Center, and it will include an updated Control Center.

ATI is part of the consortium, adding OGL 2.0 support wouldn't be an issue of NDA, they added 1.5 support long before it was released.

The conference was reported on and all the extensions that would be added were published (including the votes for/against new extensions) in the summer (June IIRC).

As for OGL2.0 support, it will come according to the CC chat log from Rage3D, but it's not there yet IIRC.

Well already got a Doom 3 report on this driver. Ran the timedemo and will get 48.5 with 4.9beta drivers and 48.6 with 4.9final. This pretty much confirms the info I got from selected ATI contacts. Will do the 3dmark03 test now.

Just ran the 3dmark03 a few times and got a 100 point boost with score of 6678 from 6525. So far these test were ran on a:

mobile barton 2500 OCed to 3200 11x200
1gb dual channel 3500 ram
Radeon 9800pro to xt at 420/750, 405/750 for doom 3

So far the 4.9 drivers is finally demostrating improvement which 4.4 was the last best one. Could have done these at much higher OCed speeds but wanna to keep within mainstay. I would do 3dmark01se and aquamark but I gotta prep for Ivan and leave something for you to report.

Yeah spent most of the day waiting for info from out East. It finally arrives 10 mins before I'm done for the day.

so, it says Doom3 10-15% improvement on X800XT with AA.

Will it works with my 9800 pro without AA for doom3???

You should see small improvement and tiny bit more with AA enabled. ATI really has been focusing on the x800 models lately.

you should find the thread that says "<A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=409019#409019" target="_new">post you doom3 results here</A>" and see the numbers people have put up there. Also you can find "<A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=409604#409604" target="_new">Definitive doom 3 tweak guide</A>" for ATI tuning. Your 9800 pro should do ok. But not as great a improvement will be seen as over an XT.
