WTF why am i getting split screen in cs

I fixed my fps problem but i still comtinue to get split screen whenever i look around in cs and in half life. Im using a leadtek 6800 ultra and this never happened on my old system with the 9800 pro. atleast not that i rememebr. Thanks for any help u guys can give me.

u dont know but u r using SLI, throw that other card out. :lol: .

I think its vsync, enable it.

Turn Vsync on.

The reason you get this (usually called 'Tearing') is that your card is rendering at a higher FPS than your refresh rate, so the Vid card starts drawing a new frame before the monitor has completely finished drawing the old one & you end up with a display which is half the old frame and half the new one.

Vsync is an option which forces the card to render no faster than the refresh rate of your monitor.

Hey GeneticWeapon, that was real useful feedback NOT, and actually an incorrect statement. CS is the most popular onliner ever, and actually could be played by Gay and Lesbians and well as the copious straight guys and gall out there based on the total number playing around the world, and concidering the ratio of Gay/Lesbian to the number of Hetro's out there, so I appologise.....

Popular, so what? Britney Spears is popular, but that doesn't make her good (sorry Eden, but really man!).

The reason it's popular is that it's easy to get (ie free with little work), and it'll work on the cpu in your caller-id box.

I've played CS. I found it extremely boring & annoying.

The graphics Suck & It's just not very fun.

Raven Shield is better for the slow/stealthy kind of thing, and Unreal/Quake is better at the nutcase charging around deathmatch stuff.

As GW says, it's only popular because it runs on quite low-spec machines.

those are not the ONLY reasons why its popular. being a recovering CS addict that spent his first couple years of college playing it nonstop I can tell you that there is more to this game than you will ever know because you never spent any time with it. some of the gameplay is random (so what) but 90% is skill and can be fine tuned and enjoyed at a professional level in clans and tournaments. this game is awesome and im sorry you'll never see that

thats pretty lame that you guys use the "graphics suck" reason - gameplay > graphics.

That wasn't THE reason. It was just yet another reason.

If it was jaw-droppingly pretty, then it would be more fun. Far Cry's gameplay wasn't all that amazing, but it kept you playing because you always had a nice view .

CS is boring. That's why it sucks.

Life is too short to continue doing <i>anything</i>(in terms of a recreational activity) that <i>you are not enjoying</i> because people say you need to "Spend more time with it".

If it's not engaging me within an hour or so, then why the hell should I bother continuing?

Simple explanation for it's widespread use.

Old game, cheap, low system requirements, and easily spread (like a virus), sure eventually everyone has it and plays it, but it's nothing to be proud of, kinda like Herpes. Does it mean it's better than UT2K4, D3, etc. no, it's just means it's a plague.

I've played it, and the only people with the power to play other games who still play it are those who can't let go and move on, and those who love to cheat. The rest of us have moved on, and hopefully these clones will to once HL2 comes out, but probably not, because the majority of CSers don't have a system good enough to make the most of it.

It's like a religion, CS players the Heaven's Gate cult of the gaming world. Be sure to leave your ballz at the door! :tongue:

No matter what anybody says, I like CS. Play it once a week. I like britney too, but only for her body not her voice. She's hot .
The reason y it bcanme to popular was bcos of its style, like 1 team vs another. No wonder it still is used for professional gamesr league and worldwide based lan party's.
Also unlike D3 is allows upto 64 players per game, so we can have a nice slaughter orgy in the game. As the CSS makes sure the bodys dont dissapear, we have a graveyard in the game.
