Having problems and the system would not start and would not install without
formating the drive. Added a different drive and installed windows, but
while it recognizes the drive it does not recognize anything on that drive.
Need to restore the file system on that drive. Windows XP professional on
a stand alone home unit.

Rt click on MyComputer>select Manage>Disk Management>rt click on drive
if it shows up there and select Choose a Drive letter for it.

Follow the directions and it is there as Drive C and you click on properties
is shows empty and it does show the file system as NTFS. Need a way for the
drive to list the files. I did not rename the drive not sure if that would
beneficial.
