Looking for an average 4X AGP card to do internet and very light gaming (Baldur's Gate 2, Starcraft, Homeworld) for around $50. Any suggestions and recommendations on cards to get or avoid? I had a Visiontek GEForce 2ti but the capacitors started leaking. I have an Abit NF7-S board.

A Radeon 9550 (NOT SE) or 9600 (NOT SE) would be much better than a 9200 for the price.

I'm sure you could find a 9550 around the $60 price point, I think there's a 9550 non-se for $57 on pricewatch.

[EDIT: I meant to type $57 even though the first time I accidentally typed $7]

BTW, my old 3DFX Voodoo 3 2000 16 MB AGP card played the sh1t out of the original Balrur's Gate... and that was with a K6-2 550MHz cpu...

A 9600 would be a good card for you... but a GF3 would
meet your needs... so too would a cheap GF2 MX card...

You have an NF7-S... save up and at least give that board a 9600 Pro...

The cheapest 9550 with 128bit on NewEgg is $65. After shipping to Hawaii that's $85. My processor is an old 1GHz Thunderbird. Would that be worth it?

How are the:

ATI Radeon 9250 128MB - $49
eVGA MX4000 64MB - $36.90

Any good? Or crap? I ask because my friend will be ordering eq from mwave.com and I can split the shipping with him. They only have the 256MB version of the 9550. Shipping to Hawaii is usually $20 per order so to order one graphics card is kind of a waste.

He was asking for a cheap vid card.

1 GHz T-bird is not a bottleneck for R9550 is most of the games. R9250 is not so good, and stay away from MX4000 by all means, it's pure garbage.

256 MB VRAM is useless with R9550. Try to find a cheaper 128 MB version

Cool. Thanks guys. I'm definitely going with the 9550. It's just a matter of finding someone to split the shipping with now.
