I'm trying to re-install windows on my laptop. It keeps saying to "insert
Windows XP sp 2 disk." Can anyone tell me where to get this disk?

If I bypass the pop-up, it says the version you are trying to install is
older than the one currently installed and will not let me continue.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Kevin

Hi

That message means that you are trying to install XP from a previous version
CD. If you SP2 installed then you will have to create a slipstreamed SP2 CD
to be able to perform a 'Repair' install of XP.

You can download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en -
or if you have a copy of the SP2 CD, you can copy the xpsp2.exe file from
that CD onto your hard disk/partition and use that:

then follow the directions in the following article to create a slipstreamed
XP CD:
