More X700 pics and Benchies (for Pro & XT!)

Just saw this at EB (but I translated the links for y'all :wink: [I had to use simplified as Traditional crashed when making links, if you translate yourself using Babel or Systan, use traditional for a slightly clearer read))...

It appears that HKEPC has a quicky review up with good pics, it says NDA in the first part of the review, but you can also find some 3Dmk01/03 and Aquamark benchies elsewhere on Page 4 the 'Potency' section.

I wish you could see the memory under the Ramsinks on the XT. 2.0ns on the PRO is nice for it's stock speed (potential), wonder what the XT has.

Seems they pulled page 4 as both your link, and manually going to potency page come up dead. So how many 3dmark03's did they get? Anyway, from what I saw it almost suggested there will be an AGP version to replace 9800 Pro? Or Was it saying the opposite? I can't tell. :smile:

It's still up on this end, but, here's the test version of the results;

Looks like the XT likes the 3Dmark tests and the GT likes the Aquamark tests, and the Pro runs away with all of them in it's round of testing.

I think they were talking about potentially an AGP version, and ATI said they would if there's a need. We'll see. This sehment is now the 'will do until the refresh in the spring' choice for me. Neither the GF6800 nor X800 impressed me, but these do.

Inq also have some info about X700pro, not much, just give their 3dmark03 scores (7600).

That foreign website has had what GrapeApe saw since the time he posted the link. I saw those results. Dunno why you guys didn't.

I'm sure you saw this and probably even mentioned it somewhere(Paul protecting self :smile: ), but did you see the clock speeds changed for the X700XT?

It's now 475/1050, which should be >= 500/1000 since increased memory speeds seem to show improvement more in new games over core speeds right.

Yeah, works for me too, but it didn't back when I first tried it. Not sure why not.

Grape, thanks for the numbers anyway though.

I dunno though, 50MHZ more is actually not more than 5% more speed/bandwidth and theoretical performance, which as we know, without more core speed, would translate into MUCH less. Maybe 1-2% at most more performance.

PS: BTW the clock changes is news to me! :smile:

Yeah I saw it, but it was posted by Priyajeet before I saw it today (been out all day).

I think it'll be interesting to see how well it overclocks once the process is perfected. The question is whether it really matter to those of us who like to OC. If my R9600Pro can go to 535mhz without Low-k, how much of the 500mhz is reachable with an 8-pipe 0.11miccron chip?

HB, depends on the final tests. I'm leaning towards the X700XT, but the GF6600GT is also a possibility depending on their full tests (like X-bit does). Also of course, need the mobo first (CPUs are there, memory is there, HDs are available too). This will likely be a tempo until the R520 and GF6800 replacement make their presence known. Also interested in seeing SLI make more of an apperance, and show it's worth or lack thereof.
