The below Demo is running on a Radeon 9700 card at 40fps at 800x600 and looks absolutely amazing (got the link from the beyond3d forum). Reminds me of the new Unreal Engine. UE3 may be more advanced, but this is a demo from 2003 and is due out in 2005 and is definately kewl looking; I think UE3 is slated for 2006:

Gamers are really getting treated to some great new engines like the Crytek, Source, Doom3, and Unreal engines. Finally, DX 9 being put to use!

Some screen shots:

The pop cans look *real* less a little aliasing.

thats pretty good, though was there a bug in there ? the last pic he drops on th top most floor, never falls flat, it drops from the wall and stands stright in the passage. The camera always goes fast when its on it ? Isnt that pic frame suppoed to fall flat according to physics ?

Anyway, so how many engines we have or will:

D3, source, UE 3.0, cry, reality (+ an upcoming reality)

UE3.0 also use parallax lighting used by reality. Infact, there is already a parallax mod for doom3 engine, and makes some sharp images of metallic surfaces.

Lets wait for source now, in HL2 - hope the fight between vivendi and Valve wont effect its release.

I'm already liking this!

Nice atmosphere feel in that mansion too.

Anyone caught the little funny Easter Egg-like tidbit off the Diet Pepsi can?

See if you guys are nerdy enough.

I dunno man, I think UE3.0 is a world apart from this game, this looks a lot like CryEngine with HDR lighting.

Athlon 2500+, Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev2, 768Mb Corsair XMS 5-2-2-2.5, Sapphire 9800 Pro 128Mb, Seagate SATA 80Gb, Fortron-Source FSP400-60PFN

well, u gotta take into account that it was being run on a 9700 rather than a latest card. Though there are moments when the graphics look "plastic" (as Carmack would say) but good effects overall. UE3.0 will i think give shader effects like that of Doom3, but with the real feeling of Source - I mean both day/night enviroments.

I wouldn't call it a bug at this point, although it could be. The display went off the picture before it stopped moving. I've seen things drop and land on their edges, hop a bit vertically, nearly at balance point, then fall over.

I'd consider it a bug if the display hovered around it and it didn't fall flat, but It seems to me that the view left it before it stopped moving, so we don't know if it fell flat.
