Sorry everyone, I'm sure this gets asked a lot, but the more I read about Video Cards, the more confused I get.

I have a Crucial Radeon 8500LE 128MB AGP card. I'd like to get a new one, but not spend an arm and an leg for one... Something less than 150 USD. I play games most of the time... usually Battlefield 1942.

Thanks,
Roland

There are much better cards for under 150 USD.

Radeon 9700's and 9800's can be found on Pricewatch in the $150 range... those are kick ass cards, and very good value at that price point. (just make sure you don't get a 128-bit version. The 256 bit version is fine)

The Radeon 9600XT should be around $130... that's an awesome card, too, but not as good as the 9700/9800s.

Good old Geforce4 Ti4200's are almost as good, but they don't have DirectX 9 capabilities. They only run $80 though.

And for the ultimate bargain, if you're a tinkerer, you can get a Radeon 9550 128-bit for about $60. Overclocked, they have the potential to approach 9600XT speeds.

Don't bother with anything that says 9000, 9100, 9200, 9600LE, 5200, 5300, and 5600, or MX. There are much better cards than these out there for the price.
