Some Early X700Pros showing up with XT cores

Structurally there is no difference, and maybe they will all look similar and be bin'ed appropriately.

However PC Perspective's X700Pro arrived as a 'de-tuned' X700XT.

Not earth shattering like an R9600XT arriving with an R9800XT core, but it's interesting.

When I make my next purchase, I want to be one of the lucky guy's who "gets one of the good ones"...

Your were like that with your 9600Pro. Think of all the guys who ended up with crap memory on their cards (**coughCoolSquirtle**) since the time you originally purchased your card.
Next time, I'm going to be one of those people

Yep, that's the thing to hope for.

I really can't wait to find out how these puppies OC in the right hands. That there are yield issues with the 'pro' doesn;t make me feel bad, obviouslyh the XTs are plentiful enough and with even GamersDespot getting their 'EngSample' PRO at 500/500, I think it could be a good 'deal' card.
Let's just hope that the Third party folks like HIS come up with damn fine HSFs cause it sounds like the reference one is loud and not too effective. An IceQ version seems pretty attractive. But still gotta see more examples of these cards (both the GF6600 and the X700). Now imagine what might be possible with the Peltier that;s still in my drawer.


EDIT; Come to think of it it's pretty funny that the BBA R9600XT folks probably got worse results from OC's because mine at 525/350 (not the topby a long shot) is better than any 550+ core saddle with that crap 3.3ns memory (which likely sticks them at somewhere south of 315mhz) and this card being so memory limited I betcha I outperform them in all but the lowest rezes and the oldest games.
