Hi guys - i cannot find any information on the web (believe it or not...) comparing the x800xt PCI-E (plain) with the x800xt platinum edition PCI-E, with the x800xt AGP, and i dont think there is an x800xt platinum edition for AGP. The only reason i want to go AGP is because i can get (built by ATI) very cheap from america (£277 instead of about £380 - £420 in UK). Is this a wise choice? If you know any information to help me with this decision, please let me know!

Thanks

I have a retail ATI X800XT Platinum Edition AGP version card, and I paid us$469 for it from CDW.
Good choice, IMHO.
The PCI-E version is just a little faster, but both are the fastest cards you can buy.
Here is a comparison between AGP X600XT and PCI-E X800XT PE:

who wants to compare a X800 with a X600 ?
We know X800 will be faster -> compare a F1 car to a road driven ford !
