I ran across a Galaxian PCB at an operator's place a
while back (picked it up along with some other items).
It was hacked into something else, but I'm not sure
what???
The CPU socket was removed and replaced with a light
Tan colored block that I'm assuming is the CPU sealed
inside of it (ala Pac-Man Plus). It says "EX-PAK
CVS Technology Copyright 1984" on the top.
There are numerous chips piggy-backed around the board
with wires running various directions (it looks like
they did a fairly clean job, so the board could be
send back to a Galaxian). The two ROMs at the end of
the PCB (row 1) are also piggy-packed (so 4 PROMs
total), with wires tying to another chip midway-up the
PCB. The labels on them are hand written and either
say "OFG" or "DFG", I believe.
The normal Galaxian daughterboard is missing and was
replaced with two ribbon cables (one for each of those
ROM sockets), but whatever those two ribbon cables
plugged into is now missing. Therefore, the game isn't
working.
I'll try to post a pick, but does this ring a bell with
anyone?
BTW, I did Google thing and only came-up with one
reference to a conversion called "Hunchback", but some
of the info about that board doesn't seem to exactly
match mine.
