with 3dmark 05 out,many ppl have questions in their mind will their system run this benchmark ?
the answer is given on futuremark website with minimum system requirements they are :-

Minimum System requirements

* x86 compatible processor with MMX support, 2000MHz
* 512MB system memory
* 400MB of hard disk space
* DirectX9 generation graphics card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher
* Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP operating system
* DirectX9.0c or later

and so crucial factor comes with a graphics cards with PS 2.0+support it is obvious that all the high end cards will have it(or else there is no use of this bechmark ;)) but what about low end cards? which cards support this feature!

i m writing all the cards that support this feature-- pixel shader (PS) 2.0+(easiest way to find out it whether ur card support DX 9.0 or not ?)

so

INTEL GMA 900-->2.0

and as far as concern goes to system RAM mostly for gaming systems have high system RAM but 3dmark 05 runs with 256MB of system RAM though at this point of time i can't tell what exactly is the performance difference!!

i m doomed!!!

Wow, look at all that work. I would have just said "Radeon 9500 series or newer, GeForceFX 5200 series or newer"

Not quite my fine feathered friend, although his list wouldn't work either.

Here's what you get on a P4 2.8gh HT w/ 512 DDR-333 with anf FX5200;

<A HREF="http://img40.exs.cx/img40/4176/3DMK05_NORUN.jpg" target="_new">*1*</A>

<A HREF="http://img40.exs.cx/img40/3082/3DMK05_UNSUP.jpg" target="_new">*2*</A>

Of course the thing that needs to be mentioned is that 64mb just won't cut it anymore. :eek:

Is the Go5200 really even a 5200? Or did nVidia pull an ATI (9600 called Mobility 9700)? Anyway, doesn't 5200 have PS2.0?

Oh, and how do we know the problem wasn't caused by something else, such as insufficient RAM or VRAM?

It is insufficient VRAM (FM stated that the minimum would be 128mb).

RAM is fine (512mb).

As for the FXGO5200, yeah it's an FX5200 core but clocked slow, and the memory is kind castrated. I'll run 3Dmk03 before going to bed.

fx5200 ran for me and gave 216 of 3dmark 05 score,though my system RAM is just 256 MB DDR400

3 GHz/P4C800!

i m doomed!!!

Well the core is 50+ mhz slower than the regular FX5200(non-ultra). And I still haven't checked yet if it's 64bit memory or 128bit.

But the FX5200 never was very good with 3Dmk03, just look at the ULTRA's scores in the initial review;

<A HREF="http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030311/geforcefx-5600-5200-15.html" target="_new">http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030311/geforcefx-5600-5200-15.html</A>

Not very impressive even for something clocked much faster 325/325 and definitely 128bit memory.

Yeah and not to mention this is a laptop, so no matter if 3dMark03 isn't too dependant on anything other than GPU, it will still lose some points compared to the desktop version.

Have you tried OC'ing your R9600Pro?

Who makes it? Built By ATI or Powered By ATI?

Since you're so close to getting a new one give it a go.

As you can see from the link on the third try I was running 530/360 (gonna try for more tongight or tomorrow). If it's a Buily By Ati card, it's not uncommon to reach 500/350. However go slow from about 450/325 up. And if it's a card by someone else you may hit you limit well before that, so take it slow. However these are among some of the best overclocking on stock cooling cards around.

heh i just oced it [before i read ur post] its BBA 9600pro... i only oced it a bit [~20mhz to 417 core, and 317 mem] ive put it up higher but my desktop went insane when i put it up past 430 for the core so i stopped trying that... yea so with a slight oc on my vid and cpu i got 1500 marks and 4300 cpu ones [2.3ghz]... ill try clocking it up that high cuz i dont really have anything to lose... and if it goes insane... well that will speed up the process of getting a new one :D

I am currently using Catalyst 4.9 drivers (I tend to mention it in my 3Dmktitles because I use so many).

The tools I use are varied, but for this I just used Rage3Dtweak, very simple to use, and I like it's other features.

I have gotten my best OCs with RadLinker's RadClocker. It was bundled with the Omega drivers before, but I didn't look to see if it still is (I usually bypass it when installing because I prefer the interface for Rage3Dtweak) I know OmegaDrive (maker of the Omegas) removed them for a bit and was planning on replacing them with something. When I get home I'll check either tonight or over the weekend.

BTW, try OC'ing your card while your CPU is at stock. Depending on your MOBO a CPU OC may adversley affect your card OCs, especially if there isn't a PCI-lock in the BIOS or by default.

As for my card it's all stock no volt mods or even HSF mods for now; when I replace it, that's probably a different story I have promised to mess quite a bit with it so we'll see, but I do want to give it to a friend of mine or maybe sell it to him for a case of Beer (probably Rickard's). Even the Xp2000+ is using the AMD stock cooler (thus the mild OC). As for my memory it's single channel DDR400 on a MOBO that actually performs better when it's clocked as DDR333.

I'm very surprised to see the Retail ATI R9600Pro not OC'ing well. When did you buy it? Man all the people I knew who bought them early on got at LEAST to 475 on their cores without artifacting (and really most broke 500).

Oh well maybe it doesn't like someting with the power in your system or it a bad chip (I say that just compared to all the other OCs, for stock it seems to do you fine, and is good for stock).

Well don't fry your card on my account. Play around, but if you get any serious artifacting shut it down. As for running 1600 in Black, nope, anytime I see artifacting of any kind I close the program and lower the clocks. and let it cool down with the case open.

Also don't push the Core and the Memory up at the same time, find the max for each seperately, then try moving them both together, starting from about 10+mhz below max on core and 5+mhz below max on memory. That's the best way to find what OC's well on the card.
