2k work station freezes at login

It is a WIN2k work station joining a domain. When the End user tried to
log in to the domain , she gets a vbscript.dll error and a dos like
screen , that is as far as it goes. I asked her if she can log in
locally and she said no, but I am not 100 percent sure that she even
knows what locally means. I just thought I would ask for a little
advice here in what to look for because I have not ever seen this
problem that I am scheduled to troubleshoot tomorrow. Any advice will
be appreciated.
