Hi. My BFG 6800gtOC cooling sucks.

Im not sure im sold on the NV5 because its based on being quiet more than anything, and that tells me that it gives up some performance, even if it is better than the stock HSF.

Is there or will there be better cooling available thats based around cooling and not sound? Heck, Id be sold if something came out called the "NV EarDrum Popper" because then I know this bitch was made to cool.

So... yeah... anything else available? Or will be?

Look into water cooling, it's silent and it should yield by far the best results.

My dad put a nv5 on his bfg 6800gt oc and it dropped the load temps from up to 90C to 62C but i dont see why you are worried about the cooling. The Card works right? You shouldnt be overclocking with Stock HSf. So if it gets to hot and dies all you do is send it back and they send you a new one.But if you want uber cooling get watercooling and a peilter for that b*tch.

The NV5 works pretty well. I use it. Quiet and effective.

Get an NV5 and replace the motor....that's what all the cool people are doing  .

I have my 6800 GT in a Thermaltake Xaser III case and its staying at about 53c, Its a evga so it probably dont have the beefy cooling system like yours has, add a few case fans and a pci fan card (Im doing the same for when I overclock) and you should have pretty decent temps.

I don't even have a 6800GT...and to my knowledge nobody has replaced the motor of the NV5. BTW, eVGA's cooling is reference and a LOT better than BFG's new dual-fan cooling.

Yeah, I havent heard anything about ppl replacing the Nv5 motor... Is there even a motor on a HSF???

And yes, the Evga HSF is WAY BETTER than the dual fan BFG... Its sad that the new fan, the dual fan, is worse than the first one BFG had...

Teh oh well... Ill stick with my small overclcok and maybe get the NV5.

Ah, I figured since the bfg comes slightly overclocked it would come with a bigger fan assembley etc.
