desktop tab settings

My desktop tab settings is frozen icannot change background to the tulips etc
etc ,only the background colour even my browser is unhighlited

the browse button on the settings window is greyed out,sorry i'm not used to
the jargon just yet

Go Start > Run and type:

regedit

Then navigate to (using the (+) symbol to expand the keys):

[HKEY_CUURENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
or
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
In the right-hand pane, delete "NoChangingWallPaper" or change the value
to 0.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]In the right-hand pane, delete "Wallpaper" and "WallpaperStyle" (if theyexist).Be very careful in the registry, you could make your computerunbootable.--William
