Ever-changing leaders in 3Dmk05

Well this time it's from the same guy who cracked <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=403766#403766" target="_new">100K in Aquamark3</A>, but this time his rig is running a flash-moded Sapphire X800PRO VIVO.

To all the rest of us mortals somewhat humbled by our own 3Dmk05 results, it took alot longer to reach this point with 3Dmk03, so maybe this one is too EASY.

<b>EDIT</b>: It appears the leaderboard has changed and Shamino is now about 4 strokes behind the new leader heading into the back 9. :lol:

It's gonna be the ever changing numero uno. At this rate it looks like 10K may be reachable before the end of the year.

Damn I sure hope they get a multi-player mod. (for Xeon's benifit)

comparing the TOP 2, both use the X800XT PE. But XS uses Intel, Macci uses AMD. Macci's sys has 1/2 the RAM than that of XS. Also XS have clocked their GRAM slightly higher than Maccis, but their core is slightly less clocked than Maccis.

Considering the R480 arrives by december. And considering the memory is clocked to around 700 Mhz stock, sure these uber OCers will break the 10K mark in 3dmark 05. Also, unless AMD comes out with their PCIe platform, Intel will be the base for enthusiasts for the R480, well atleast for this year.

FUTUREMARK APOLOGIZES

"Please accept my sincererest apologies for myself reacting the way I did yesterday morning and for sending those emails to Kyle that he posted on the news page. I would like to hereby let everyone know that I am withdrawing all of that. Also, I feel that I owe everyone an explanation of why it happened.

For years, we have been trying to get constructive cooperation going with the HardOCP team. However, for one reason or another none of these attempts have succeeded. So, naturally we have been little bit frustrated by it. Then, I again saw a newspost yesterday morning with just a statement that our product sucks without any explanation or argumentation or technical reason of why they so think.

This just caused an immediate, and I have to add, rather immature, reaction in myself and I sent off those emails without really thinking.

So, as a summary, I hope that we can all move forward from here. We do wish more constructive critique and I would like to emphasize that we really encourage everyone to send and publish any and all feedback, good or bad, as long as it is reasonably argumented, since only that helps this industry move forward.

Most Plasmas crap out at 1024 x768 (some 46 inchers are 8xx X ~480.

The Sony HDTV projection cheaper than a Plasma, and it does 1400x1080. And it can be 300"

Just waiting for the price ot come down, or for OLED to start making Wall-sized monitors. :lol:
