We can't help with that because we have no way to tell if it is your computer or not. We do not support hacking of any type. Contact the manufacturer you purchased the laptop from.

Why is it that it seems lately there are a lot of laptop users with this problem?

Is it because laptops are so euphemistically speaking "owner transferrable"?

The password is there to protect the data on the hard. If it were easy to bypass the password, then there's not much use to have a password.

If you need to use the laptop, then buy another hard drive to replace the current hard drive. You will also need to buy Windows 7 so that the OS can be installed on the new hard drive.

Thats easy (it isnt hacking if its yours) find the coincell and remove it, wait 40 seconds then put it back in. (yes, even laptops have a cmos battery)

theres is also likely a jumper or dip switch somewhere.

It is a hard drive password not a bios one.

Hella-d,

First, that isn't allowed here. Doesn't matter if they say that they own it, stole it, or bought it from a pawn shop.

Second, that won't even work. Passwords are stored in NVRAM.

All of them do. Microsoft requires it as part of the OEM licence. If the Windows installation DVD is not distributed with the laptop it can be downloaded from Microsoft's digital distribution network.

Note that these don't come with keys (the CoA which has the key on it must be affixed to the laptop) so they can only be used on a trial basis without one.
