What causes a monitor to make a high pitch squeal when doing some things and not others? Surfing the net, no noise. Playing a game, started making the noise. It's a 19" KDS monitor and I have had no problems with it. Are there any settings that I should check?
Thanks for any help...

Does the whine change pitch with different refresh rates?, coz some games etc. change the refresh rate & screen resolution dynamically, if so, it probably means one or more high-frequency oscillator coils are suffering from an insulating lacquer failure/breakdown.
Get your friendly TV engineer to check/re-lacquer.
Hope it is some help.
I get a slight whistling whine if I use a refresh rate that's pushing my monitor's (Micron900MX\CTX PR960F) limit...1600x1200@85hz...but it's not there at all at
1200x1024@85. CTX says it may go away, but not to worry until it's really noticable...anyway...good to have the carry in service warranty at Best Buy! good luck, Kit
