In addition to the double-monitor internet connection status icon in
the systray, I have another icon which is a blue `i` on a white
background with a green border. What is irritating is that a speech
balloon keeps appearing every few seconds telling me its status, and
it is very intrusive. I can right-click, select `exit` and the icon
disappears, as do the balloons. However, if I do this, each time I
want to search the internet or send mail, I get a message saying that
a connection isn`t available and I have to click the "retry" button.
Is there a way to stop these balloons appearing but still retain the
icon, and therefore the connection, please?

Many thanks
Kate
