Hi guys,

I really need your expertise. Listen up:

I have encountered a problem with my kt7a-raid board and this time I have read the manual carefully !!;)

I get:
"Award Bootblock Bios v.1.0

Bios Rom checksum error

Dectecting floppy drive A media
Insert system disk and press return"

What does this mean? I boot up again, after reset bios, but after a while my system freezes and
lots of bios stuff is written all over the screen ???

I have taken my harddrive, floppy and cd-rom drive and put into a new tower and with the same cpu, another kt7a-raid board and the above error happens???
Is it because I have to install it all again eventhough it is the same
system???

Please help as I´m anxious to get going!!!
Thanks in advance
pete

Make sure your power and info cables are plugged into the floppy drive correctly, and there's no disk in the drive.

And check your startup devices in the BIOS.

Make an ACTIVE partition on the hard drive with fdisk.

this could be caused by two different things:
1: the Cmos Battery is no good, try to replace it should fix the problem.
2:Bios has gone bad, to fix this you need to make a boot disk and flash your bios but you need to make a batch file to the floppy so that it runs and does not need any in put from you, because there is no keyboard control.

if this doesn't work u might need a new motherboard.

Also try running it with the CDrom and floppy disconected, and take out any pci cards, if it works ok put one back at a time.

And if that's not enough homework, we can assign you some more.
