Hey Everyone

I'm dam confused at the moment. A company here is selling the leadtek geforce agp 6800 (A400-128) for $ 301.382*
Specs: Leadtek® nVidia GeForce 6800 AGP8x 128MB 256 Bit (2.2ns) DDR / TV-Out + DVI + Hardware Monitor / Direct X 9.0c + OpenGL

The same gigabyte equivalent is also a geforce 6800 asp (N68128DH) but it's going for $445.652*
Spec: Gigabyte® nVidia Geforce 6800 Edition AGP8x 128MB 256 Bit DDR / TV-Out + DVI / PowerDVD 5 / Direct X 9.0 + OpenGL

*The prices may seem strange but that's cause I stay in South Africa and the $ Rand exchange rate is painfull*

I really want to get the leadtek card but I'm worried that it has dodgy ram or some such thing wrong with it.

Any Advice?

Thanks
Derth

If a deal seems to good to be true, it usually is. 128mb 256 bit?? Is that 128mb ram?

Asus p4c800 Deluxe,1 Gig Mushkin PC3200 Dual Channel 400 Mhz(222),Pentium 4 3.0 512k 800fsb HT, Thermaltake Xaser III, Thermaltake Spark 7+, Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro, eVGA GeForce 6800 GT

LeadTek is known for making good cards, and more so massive heatsinks. Anyways are you sure the LeadTek isn't OEM, or refurbished, or something, while the GigaByte is retail?

I'm not sure, the are being sold by one of the biggest distributors in South Africa, a company called Rectron.

The special has been running these last two months and I don't think it's a oem model as I've only ever bought retail goods from them.

If it only has a 128 megs of ram then it explains why its cheap because the 6800 Gt's with 256 are usually around 400ish.
