Hey is the radeon 9800 256bit nonpro basically the same as a 9700 256 bit pro? So if i can get a 9700 pro cheaper then the 9800 nonpro i should just go with the 9700 pro.

9800 non-pros are basically equal to 9700 PROs.

9700 PROs usually have slightly better memory and the memory might overclock better, but 9800 non-pros usually have a core that overclocks better.

Stock, both cards are identical in performance.

That was pretty spot-on Cleeve.

To the original poster. If you're looking for a card new, in box, then vanilla 9800's are a lot easier to find.

In the freezer section of your local grocery store. They overclock better in there anyway.

I think some of you guys have been sitting way to long on the computer and are starting to suffer from serious reality drawbacks. But personaly I like chocolate.

No, non-pro is vanilla, pro is chocolate, XT gives you sprinkles.

You'll be happy as long as you don't see the sprinkles on your screen!
