Someone is trying to sell me a 9800 pro and all I have is 3 bad pictures: http://people.emich.edu/mcaldwel/9800pro/
From the looks of it, it is made by Sapphire. What confuses me is the auxillary power connector, which I thought was always a standard molex connector on 9800 pro cards. This looks more like a 9700 pro. Does anyone have any hints? Thanks a lot in advance!

I didn't look at the pictures, but if it looks EXACTLY like an old 9700 Pro and it's a 9800, it's the 9800SE 256-bit. A LOT of guys have modified these into 9800 Pros by flashing them, but there's no garuntee they will operate perfectly at stock speed, they could have greater problems overclocking, and they might fail sooner than standard cards.

Basically the 9500 Non-Pro originally used the 9700 PCB. And the 9800SE is a 9500 Non-Pro with a slightly revised chip. Most also have faster memory.

Thanks Crashman--useful information. If you have the time by tomorrow evening, could you quickly look at the pics and see if you agree with my suspicions? If not, thanks anyway.

RMA's about 20 of those here. Don't get it. Sapphire replaced those with the red boards, the black PCB ones were on 9700 PCB.
