As long as there's cheap, oppressed labor in China, we will continue to trade with them. As long as they continue to outnumber us and have a reasonably strong military, we will never "invade/liberate" them. The US isn't better. We talk freedom, but it's almost all gone. It's fake, not real freedom. The government and its agencies control and have strict rules on everything. Russia has less rules than US, Canada also. Why can't I go into a pharmacy and buy some painkillers for goodness sake? Why does DEA have to be involved, or RIAA or FDA or IRS and on and on and on. Those organizations all started out on the right track, small and actually helpful. Now they're just opressive, massive and worse than most other countries. For those who cant read and talk about cracks and the likes:

The greendam software will be installed on some system but there is no obligation what so ever to install it or to keep it running.
Simply clicking uninstall removes the software and though system manufactures are obligated to provide the installation files its not likely that they will install it on all their systems since handing over the installation files gives the end user the choice and should make us in the "not publicly suppressed world" feel better about their gain in freedom.

I am in no way for censorship though you guys proof that its so hard to use your freedom to read up on something before you start spewing the opinions you feel you have the right to express that in some way i can understand any one stating that the western world is filled with idiots.

If your afraid that in the (near) future running green dam will be an obligation thats another pie.
Yes that would be wrong and there should be something done to prevent that however again spewing your aimless and mostly ignorant thoughts wont do any thing for any one.

I'm just gonna ramble for a bit..... I just don't get it... why an importer doesn't have a say on what kind of software is being installed with a PC that is being manufactured in china that has been designated for export out of that country. I don't care to have yet another "helping" software that my computers comes with. PCs these days are plagued with pre-installed garbage that 1) slows down the computer because an average mortal doesn't know how to get rid off it so he/she is plagued with renewal popups and such 2) takes up space and actually prevents you from installing software you purchase from stores (again going back to security software that lurks around telling you that this is not meeting some standard).

So I may be understanding it wrong, and please correct me if I'm wrong... I purchase a new PC and it may come with some chinese developed software that will keep me safe from porn, and in the same time gather my internet browsing habits. Yes, simple answer is uninstall it, but is it really uninstalled..? If it is so easy to remove it, why is it there to begin with? Most kids these days have their parents passwords, or a way of knowing them.

Another easy way of getting rid of this completely is to reformat... yea like I want to waste any more time setting up a new computer... and what if my PC does not come with a set of restore discs... do I create them and unknowingly install green dam all over again? uuuuugh please...

If your not Chinese (as in live in china and buy your computer system there) there is no way in hell you will ever get greendam distributed with your pc.
And even if you are just that you still would have to install it yourself if you would want to use it in the most likely scenario.
In the less likely scenario your would have to hit uninstall 41x of which 1x is for greendam 40x is for all the other bloathware on your freshly bought system.


Greendam wont gather any thing it will only make sure you cant browse the web free and thus wont see any porn (and more worry some a lot of other things on the web).
Dont ever assume otherwise since not everything is as evil as it is made out to be.
If you still have your doubts import a system that includes greendam or just get the software to find out for yourself.

Other then in example norton products uninstalled is uninstalled period no paranoia needed here at this point.
Though this might change in the (near) future there is no reason to feel sorry for those poor Chinese people about his at this time about this specific point.

Your moronic comment about restore disk sets should be easy to figure out even for you, common what would happend if you make a recovery disk set of any dell or lenovo system ? do you get the symantec stuff all over again ?, its more or less the same way as all OEM stuff shit down your throat only this time its government regulation.

Again i am against censorship though since you need to run this on your own free will it seems kind of redundant to complain about this software while most of china is behind a huge firewall.

If this software is going to replace the huge firewall it would mean the people of the people's republic of china are finally free to surf the web if they chose not to install it as such is their right !
So this could (could as in not likely but possible) turn in to a good thing if we let it ...

China IS full of bikes and farms you dolt! Have you ever been farther inland than 100 miles off the coast? A VAST majority of China is still VERY poor and backwards. Lots of places without running water and sewage!

NO WHERE in my post or your post was it ever mentioned about the US being full of bikes and farms, the only country mentioned was China with respect to bikes and farms.

China is still far less advanced with respect to basic infrastructure than the US. The difference is, in the US 'farm' lands, they have electricity, internet, running water, etc. This cannot be said for everywhere in rural China.
