upgrading my video card

i'm thinking of upgrading my video card to ati 9800 pro 128mb,from a g-force mx 440 64mb.i was just wondering if my mobo will handle it.i have a gigabyte 8IE533 mobo,p4-2.6ghz,intel chipset 82845E.just wondering if anybody had some info for me.thanks.

Yeah i got some info.

Your motherboard is fine, any new AGP card should have no problem working with it. Good choice for the graphics card too.

my system was built with the same graphics card you got now. I'm using an AMD 2000+ and upgraded to a BBA 9600xt 128MB.

no comparison, mx 440 just wasn't cutting it for me, and I don't even play the latest games. I'm a big RPG fan, morrowind, gothic 2, etc.

worlds of difference or did I already say that? I would think you would be extremely pleased with the upgrade you are considering

The 9800 Pro works even in old Pentium II boards, I'm sure it will work in anything newer (and with much better performance)!
