take a look at this page,

<A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-212&depa=0 " target="_new"> http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-212&depa=0 </A>

this is a 6800 LE (Limited Edition) it has 256 DDR3, 256 bit, 6vp's, and 16 pipes unlocked. How is this any different from a GT, besides the clock speeds. but u can change the speeds with rt. is this a GT in disguise with 2 power adapters and dual monitor controller for $80 cheaper?

This card has also been discussed in a past thread today marked "Asus GE", I'm just going to cut and paste my reply to that question in this thread. If you've read it before, sorry.

Rumor has it that both the Asus GF6800 Gamers Edition and the eVGA 6800 Limited Edition were once 6800 Ultras that didn't meet quality control specs. Meaning that they didn't overclock very well or they wern't stable at standard clock speeds and thus Asus and eVGA wouldn't sell them as Ultras. So what they did was flash the Bios to the 6800, taking out the 4 pipelines to equal 12 and then lowering the clock speed and memory to equal the standard 6800.

I here that these cards are going fast cause they have the 256MB DDR3 instead of 128MB GDDR, plus they are able be overclocked almost back to the ultra specs, they have the heavy duty cooling and some have claimed to be able to re-flash the bios to get the 4 pipes back. Although this is done at the owners risk, it may be successfuly done if you're lucky. Warning though, unlike the standard 6800, you need two molex power connections (hint hint...Just like the Ultras/GTs)

SO, what's that mean for performance, Well, I have a feeling that the GE going to better, if not equal to the performance of the X800 pro. Whether you overclock/flash the card or not will determine if you reach GT standards. If it's kept at 12 pipes I doubt you'll equal the GT. It may be damn close to it on some benchmarks but I'm thinking though on games at 1600x1200 4xAA 8xAF the GT will still be quite superior.

Don't cut and paste when you don't know WTF you're talking about.

This is NOT a GE, it's an LE (L-oser E-dition), and it's even worse than a GF6800.

Perhaps a refresher is needed;

<A HREF="http://www.tbreak.com/reviews/article.php?id=325" target="_new">http://www.tbreak.com/reviews/article.php?id=325</A>

So you can cut and unpaste all that above because it doesn't relate to the card listed which is not a GE let alone a GT as the title implies. And the mention of GDDR3 is likely a TYPO, and nowhere does it mention it's a GT or anything similar like 16pipes.

EDIT: I don't remember seeing the Limited Edition in your original posted, only later edited in, none the less, as it stands now it is correct in that they appear to be downclocked Ultra failures with disabled pipes. But the Limited is still not the same as the GE, and so the last half of the post is still wrong, and you can mod and oc it, but that's also possible with the card you're comparing to, out of the box at stock it's still a vanilla GF6800. And if the above post always looked like that, then I did jump on it a little out of turn, but what was the problem was equating it to the GE which it is not. Nice edit though.

this doesnt seem like were talking bout the same card. on that review, it says it have 128 mb while this edition has 256 of gddr3. that was a typo sry about the 16 pipes, it does have 12.

"Freeze, your under arrest for the murder of Moe Sislack and Apu Nahasapasa...OK nevermind, just moe."

Yep it's an enigma. I never said the review was this very card, EVGA can put 256mb on it, but I highly doubted it's GDDR3 at that speed as the review card has the same clocks and uses Hynix 2.2ns DDR memory. Interesting, if you go to evga's site they don't have it listed as part of their 6 series product line;

<A HREF="http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=1&family=GeForce+6+Series+Family" target="_new">http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=1&family=GeForce+6+Series+Family</A>

or even as part of their AGP card line;

<A HREF="http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=2" target="_new">http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=2</A>

PCIe;

<A HREF="http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=8" target="_new">http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=8</A>

or their complete product line;

<A HREF="http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=5" target="_new">http://www.evga.com/products/prod_list.asp?switch=5</A>

However it is poping up elsewhere on other e-tailer;

<A HREF="http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/productdetails.asp?linkid=110&item=14-130-212" target="_new">http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/productdetails.asp?linkid=110&item=14-130-212</A>

So I decided to look for it, and upon closer inspection I did find a link to their info page it shows it as a 12 pipeline card w/ GDDR3 according to their own literature;

<A HREF="http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/N347.pdf" target="_new">http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/N347.pdf</A>

It looks like a 'Special' version of the GF6800, but before buying I'd contact eVGA first, because if it IS and LE as the name would hint, then it's a terrible card. If it is a 'limited edition' GF6800vanilla version with 12pipes, then it's a bit better, and the GDDR3 will give some OC potential.

Now there's two issues I noitce;

It has the speeds of a Vanilla GF6800 325/700 (the LE is 300/700) and thus maybe the limited part is the GDDR3; <A HREF="http://www.rojakpot.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=88&pgno=1" target="_new">check states at Adrian's</A>

Either way it's not a GT, yet at the same time some people are getting them shipped outside of the specs even listed on that newegg ad.

<A HREF="http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=110226&perpage=10&pagenumber=1" target="_new">The Only actual owner I've seen at the major sites checks it with Riva, and OC's it to corruption.</A>

This it seems that one is an underclocked GT with all the pipes. Anyways it's a very stange looking card, and right now it appears to be a GF6800vanilla with nice overclocking potential, but still clocked alot lower than the GE.

Hey TheGreatGrapeApe

BACK OFF!!!! First, I was cut and pasting my own post from another thread. If you can read more carefully, you'd see that I said "I'm just going to cut and paste my reply" So don't go repremanding me.

(I can't stand these boardmembers that attack my post saying I don't know WTF I'm talking about, then 2 posts later I find them saying something similar to what I said, yet still acting the expert)

In the case of the eVGA, it's not LE (Loser Edition), it's Limited Edition. It has DDR3 (like the UE/GTs) it has the same cooling as the UE/GTs, it has two molex connectors like the UE/GTs and if you look at the box it comes in on Newegg, there is a Limited Edition sticker over the Ultra text. After reading the customer reviews on newegg, and reading discussions on other forums, I stand my my statement. These cards were probably manufactured to be Ultras or GTs and "most likely" didn't meet quality control and thus are being sold as 6800s. Cause I don't work for eVGA, I'm not stating it as fact, but "rumor has it" like my original post starts off as.

This card has had extensive discussion on other forums. Read these before acting the BIG EXPERT and then use phrases like "I highly doubted" and "most likely" AKA, you don't entirly know either!

SO do some research before you flame someone, cause sometimes you don't know WTF you're talking about either.
